Next off, some light food beside the sea!

Ahh, the breeze.
Ahh, the salty sea.
Ahh, cigarette smoke.
Come on lady, you’re spoiling the air! *Dush dushhh punch pucnch!
So we sat down and ordered some typical Penang food.
- Laksa Penang
- Rojak
- Jagung bakar
- Fried food on a stick (cucuk-cucuk)
- Fish satay
Amid the jeering of some very ‘gatal’ Penang guys, we managed to enjoy the food.
But,
The rojak guy did not take our order correctly so we got what we did not want. The drinks were ‘tawar’! (Guess they ran out of sugar)
After that, we walked along the sea, looking at parents with their babies and children, men ‘lepaking’ around, couples all lovey-dovey and hawkers busy with their customers.
It was a good atmosphere. The view included the Bridge and Pulau Jerejak.
The Legend of Pulau Jerjak
The Legend of Pulau Jerjak
Legend has it Pulau Jerejak is haunted. It was once an island with a prison (just like Robben island). Also, a quarantine for the sick was built on the island and many people died there due to ‘batuk kering’ and ‘kusta’. The people couldn’t go to the mainland because then their disease would spread to everyone else. So they stayed on the island, lived, and died, on the island.
*Scary
One of our group members has a big tummy! So she went to find some more food to devour. We waited in the car while Miss Never Full goes in search for more stuff to eat. (It's amazing how she can fit in all the food in that tiny stomach of hers)
*Miss Never Full*
With our tummy happy and our heads filled with ghostly images of Pulau Jerejak, we headed home. But not before taking some pictures first!
Only when we were on our way home that we noticed this signboard along the way:
Malaysians. If we aren’t allowed to do this and that, we tend to do it in anyways. Isn’t that just funny? “Dilarang Menjaja” but there were countless amounts of stalls! The signboards are just merely nothing to them. Oh, the irony!
